Senior Residential Facility in Bedford, Ohio

COMMUNITY Updates

FEBRUARY 2, 2023

Dear Friends and Family of Light of Hearts Villa,
Happy cold February! These chilly months tend to go by slower but it felt like January just flew on by. We’ve been busy preparing for the year ahead as 2023 will bring more facility updates, many new residents, and more programming for both residents, staff, family members and community members.
General Updates + Covid-19
In the month of January 2023, we had 4 residents test positive and 2 staff members test positive. State rules still require masking in the building and visitation only in the resident’s room. Of course when weather permits, outdoor visitation is allowed as well. Visitors should only go straight to your loved one’s room without visiting any public places such as the dining room, activity center, café or laundry rooms. Additionally, please refrain from visiting if you are feeling even the slightest bit unwell or have known exposure to Covid-19 and exercise good judgment when deciding to take a resident on an outing.
In January we also had our annual Medicaid Waiver Structural Compliance review and we were informed that we are successfully in compliance, passed with flying colors!
Closing Thoughts

Don’t forget, beginning this month on February 7 from 6:00 – 7:00 PM here at Light of Hearts Villa, our caregiver support groups will begin! We invite you and anyone you know to attend this free session. We know how difficult it can be to receive a dementia diagnosis in the family – these bi-monthly sessions will be a safe space for community members to come together, enjoy some snacks and learn how to cope as a caregiver. For more information and to register, visit our website at https://lightofheartsvilla.org/news-events/news-releases/. We also have an Alzheimer’s Disease and Dementia Care Seminar coming up on March 7. This course typically costs $195, but thanks to funding from State Farm, we are able to offer this session for free. You can learn more on our website as well, under the “Events” section.

In the next month, all 2022 donors will receive a copy of the 2022 Impact Report which shows financial transparency, fundraising success, heartwarming staff and resident stories and more. We can’t wait for you to read all about 2022 and its successes, challenges, highlights and more.
As always, thank you for all the support, prayers and sweet words of encouragement you have been sending. We are a blessed community!
With so much gratitude,
Breanne Cavileer, LNHA, CDP Executive Director
