December at the Villa is consistently filled with joy, featuring festive Christmas parties and cheerful decorations adorning the entire building – creating a unique and uplifting atmosphere. As we step into 2024, there’s a profound sense of optimism and hope. This year marks our 35th anniversary, commemorating our commitment to delivering top-notch senior residential living and community outreach services.
We have officially received zero deficiencies during our annual state survey this past month on December 27, 2023. An accomplishment that is not easily attainable in the highly regulated world of assisted living. But what exactly does having “zero deficiencies” mean? A deficiency free or zero deficiency survey means that our community was operating in total compliance with state regulations regarding the care to residents, services provided and overall environment. Each year, all assisted living communities in Ohio are surveyed by the Ohio Department of Health. It is to ensure that they are providing a safe environment for all residents. Throughout the entire month of December 2023, our community remained fortunate as there were no reported cases of Covid-19. However, as of today, January 9, 2024, we must inform you that three resident cases have been identified within our community. In response to this, we would like to reassure you that we are diligently monitoring the situation and taking appropriate measures.
As a precautionary step, mandatory masking protocols for both staff and visitors remain in effect within the community. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in adhering to these safety measures to ensure the well-being of our residents and the entire community.
We are happy to announce that we have added a company called 360 Care to our resident care providers. 360 Care provides in house Podiatry, Audiology, Dental and Vision services. The doctors come to Light of Hearts Villa and provide services equivalent to that which you would receive at an offsite provider.
As always, you may visit any medical provider of your choice. We are offering this as a convenience to our residents for needed healthcare. f you contributed a donation in 2023, please anticipate the arrival of your annual giving statement at the end of this month for tax and receipt purposes. Additionally, our 2023 Impact Report will be sent to all donors in February. Copies will be accessible at the Villa and digitally on our website.

Over $215,000 was raised last week to help support the residents and community of Light of Hearts Villa, a Bedford-based nonprofit senior living facility, celebrating its milestone 35th anniversary at the Light the Way Gala. The event brought together 350 guests on September 27 to support of the Villa’s highly regarded, faith-based, compassionate care provided for older adults.
