Senior Residential Facility in Bedford, Ohio

COMMUNITY Updates

NOVEMBER 2, 2023

Dear Light of Hearts Villa Community,
As we step into November, we find ourselves immersed in the heart of our 2024 planning season. We are thrilled to share some uplifting news: Ohio has recently approved an increase in Medicaid reimbursement rates for facilities like ours beginning in 2024. With rising labor costs, other workforce concerns, and increased operating expenses associated with meeting the evolving needs of residents, these rate increases will support providers as they continue delivering the highest level of care for Ohio’s assisted living residents. Moreover, the memory care rate available to facilities certified to provide memory care will strengthen this growing and vital service.
COVID-19 Updates
In the past month, we are delighted to report that no new team members or residents have tested positive for Covid-19. While we continue to prioritize the health and well-being of our community, we are considering the possibility of reinstating mandatory mask-wearing in the upcoming colder months, to mitigate any potential illness spread. At the moment, mask-wearing remains optional, and we will keep you well-informed as we discuss and determine the timing of any changes.
General Updates
With the festive holiday season upon us, we invite you to consider reserving one of our rooms for a family gathering with your loved ones. To make arrangements, kindly reach out to Anne Messer at anne.messer@lightofheartsvilla.org or call 440.232.1991 ext. 514. You can enjoy the use of one of our room spaces for up to two hours, free of charge.
A gentle reminder: our staff members are unable to accept individual gifts from residents and their family members. If you wish to show your appreciation for our staff, you can do so by providing cookies, holiday gifts, or food for the entire team (including 60 dedicated members on any given day).
We regret any inconvenience caused by the temporary unavailability of our wellness elevator during the past week. We have already placed an order for the motor replacement, which is expected to arrive in the coming days. Once it arrives, the team will require approximately 8 hours to complete the installation, ensuring that the elevator is back in operation. We apologize once more for any disruption and appreciate your patience during this time.
#WeGiveCatholic 2023
#WeGiveCatholic is happening this month, and last year, we set an ambitious goal of raising $20,000. Thanks to your incredible support, we managed to raise $15,786, and the generosity of Robert and Mary Ann Kaminski doubled our total to over $30,000. It was a remarkable achievement that our community should be proud of.
This year, the Kaminskis have once again pledged to match whatever we raise, and we’re setting our sights even higher. Our target is to raise $25,000, with a matching contribution of $25,000 for a total of $50,000 – our most ambitious goal to date. Every contribution, no matter the size, will make a significant difference.
Ways to Contribute and Help Us Reach Our $50,000 Goal:
  1. You can send a check to Light of Hearts Villa, specifying that it is for #weGiveCatholic.
  2. Donate on our #weGiveCatholic website, available from midnight on November 19th through 11:59 PM on Tuesday, November 28th.
  3. Consider becoming a peer-to-peer fundraiser! When the time to donate arrives, share our fundraiser with your networks by visiting our organization page and clicking the “fundraise” button.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude for your ongoing support and prayers and we hope your holiday season is filled with beauty and joy. Let’s all come together to make this giving season our best one yet!
With warm regards,

Breanne Cavileer, LNHA, CDP
