Senior Residential Facility in Bedford, Ohio

COMMUNITY Updates

OCTOBER 5, 2023

Dear Friends and Family of Light of Hearts Villa,
We are officially in the beautiful season of autumn and coming off our Light the Way Gala celebration! Together, you helped us raise over $120,000 for the Sister Helen T. Scasny, SC Benevolent Fund. What an incredible and heartwarming night of fellowship for a good cause. Thank you to all of you who supported by attending, purchasing raffle tickets, donating and more. We are so thankful.
Covid-19 Updates
This past month we did have four team members test positive for Covid-19 but did not have any resident cases. Considering the uptick in cases right now and as we move into colder months, we may begin mandatory mask wearing again in November to do the best we can to limit and prevent any spread of illness among our community. We will keep you informed as we continue to discuss and determine when that may take place.
General Updates
Our long awaited IT infrastructure was completed in September. This should result in better phone service, internet connection and more for our entire community.
Reminder to families! When you are taking a resident out, please remember to come into the building to sign them out first. Additionally, we entering a season of celebration with upcoming holidays! If you’d like to reserve one of the rooms to hold a family gathering in with your loved one, please contact Anne Messer at anne.messer@lightofheartsvilla.org or 440.232.1991 ext. 514. You can rent out one of our room spaces for free for 2 hour maximum time periods.
Don’t forget, we have a Caregiver Support Group next week on Tuesday, October 10 from 6:00 – 7:00 PM. The theme is: Non-Death Loss, Grieving as Loved Ones Age. Learn more here >
The last FREE Alzheimer’s Disease & Dementia Care Seminar will be on Tuesday, November 7 from 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM. This course is usually $195 but thanks to our grant from State Farm, we offered four free courses this year. Learn more and register here >
Finally, we are actively recruiting new residents to join our Light of Hearts Villa community this fall. If you know someone who may be looking, please send them our way!
