Dear Friends and Family of Light of Hearts Villa,
Hello September! It’s officially gala month and summer is winding down. We are such a blessed community and have enjoyed our beautiful grounds, life enrichment activities and more.
Covid-19 Updates
This past month we did have three team members test positive for Covid-19 but did not have any resident cases. Considering the uptick in cases right now and as we move into colder months, we may begin mandatory mask wearing again to do the best we can to limit and prevent any spread of illness among our community. We will keep you informed as we continue to discuss and determine when that may take place.
General Facility Updates
Our long awaited IT infrastructure is still in the process of getting updated so that we have better wireless internet services for residents, staff and visitors. While not complete quite yet, we will let you know once that happens and any special instructions that come along with it. It should be a seamless transition! We have also begun the renovating process of the second floor assisted living hallway. Please pardon our dust while we remove wallpaper, update the flooring and give it some fresh paint over the next few months!
Closing Thoughts | Light the Way Gala + Special Raffles

We are SO excited to see everyone in-person again at our Light the Way Gala and hope all of you can make it. Resident and staff tickets are discounted at $50 each so bring your loved one and enjoy a heartwarming evening celebrating the heart of our mission with us. We are also coordinating a bus for our residents who may not be able to ride with their families, reach out if you have any questions at all! Check out the event site here And don’t forget the special Tropical Resort Raffle – we aren’t sure we’ll ever get a chance like this again thanks a generous donation from Elite Island Resorts. Also back this year is the Rare Bourbon Raffle – this is the perfect thing to share with your families, friends, neighbors who may not be interested in the gala, but still would like to support our mission! Tickets are $50 each and we have incredibly rare bottles of bourbon all at a value of at least $100 up for grabs.

Sister Regina Kusnir Chapel of Light: A Legacy of Faith and Compassion

December 17, 2024

Sister Regina Kusnir, SC, has lived a life of extraordinary charity and has been an integral part of Light of Hearts Villa. She helped coordinate the transition of Lumen Cordium High School into an assisted living facility in 1989. Since 2005, she has served as the director of pastoral and special ministries, where she helps address the spiritual life of residents.
