Dear Friends and Family of Light of Hearts Villa,
Happy August! Things have generally been status quo here as we continue to enjoy all that summer has to offer. The Phyllis Ann Barone Garden-Terrace (back patio) is being enjoyed every day by residents, our flowers are flourishing and we continue to have new residents move-in and join our family.
Important Reminder! If you are a family member or friend visiting a loved one in our Lumen Lane Memory Care, please make sure that no residents are following you out when you’re leaving the area unless they are with an employee or family member. This is an important aspect of keeping our residents safe.
General Facility Updates
Our Life Enrichment team is hosting the highly requested and much anticipated Amish Country lunch and trip to Smucker’s at the end of this month. We are also planning our annual picnic for August 18 at noon where staff and residents enjoy live music, eat some burgers and enjoy fellowship. The team has also added a monthly baking club to Lumen Lane Memory Care activities and our residents are loving it!
Additionally, our IT infrastructure is still in the process of getting updated so that we have better wireless internet services for residents, staff and visitors. We are hopeful that it will be complete before the end of the month and we will keep you updated on that progress.
Rare Bourbon Raffle is Back!
We’re excited to announce we have 15 rare bottles of bourbon to raffle off this year! We’re only selling 200 tickets total and they are $50 each. Winners will be pulled at the gala but winners do not need to be present to win. Hurry and get your tickets, they’re going to go fast!
Light the Way Gala is Almost Here!
We hope to see as many of our resident family members at this year’s Light the Way Gala on Friday, September 29. The event will take place at the Historic Tanglewood Club in Chagrin Falls and you can now purchase your Tropical Resort Raffle tickets, Rare Bourbon Raffle tickets, event tickets and sponsorships! It’s a fun time with delicious food, open bar, whiskey tasting, raffles and more. This event is an important aspect of our fundraising so we can continue to meet the needs of our community. Sister Regina Kusnir Chapel of Light: A Legacy of Faith and Compassion
December 17, 2024
Sister Regina Kusnir, SC, has lived a life of extraordinary charity and has been an integral part of Light of Hearts Villa. She helped coordinate the transition of Lumen Cordium High School into an assisted living facility in 1989. Since 2005, she has served as the director of pastoral and special ministries, where she helps address the spiritual life of residents.
