Lumen Cordium Alumnae Mass of Remembrance
Though the halls may serve a new purpose today, the spirit of Lumen Cordium continues to live on through the friendships, faith, and memories shared by generations of alumnae.
St. Elizabeth Ann Seton was an American born saint. She was a wife, mother, educator, widow, nurse and foundress of the Sisters of Charity. During her life, she often had to depend on others to help her provide for her family and her fledgling community.
Today, senior citizens are often in need of a helping hand at a moment of shortfall. At times, the fixed income doesn’t quite meet the needs and the cupboard stands bare.
In 2005, the community outreach services of Light of Hearts Villa established the Seton Safety Net for seniors, a small food closet, to give our social worker the resources to meet such needs as they arise in our community.
Donations can be made by cash or by check to: Light of Hearts Villa, with “Seton Safety Net” on the memo line.
Address: 283 Union St. Bedford, OH 44146
Food donations can also be delivered to Light of Hearts Villa.
Accepting: Canned fruits, canned vegetables, cereals, canned soups, juices (no glass), macaroni and cheese, noodles, rice, peanut butter and jelly
Reach out to our Social Worker, Robert Evans at robert.evans@lightofheartsvilla.org or 440.232.1991 ext. 521.

As the Sisters of Charity of St. Augustine celebrate 175 years of serving others, we’re honored to share stories from those whose lives have been touched by their mission. For Jennifer Grogan, assistant dietary director at Light of Hearts Villa, working alongside the Sisters has been a powerful reminder of what it means to lead with compassion, serve with humility, and care for others with unwavering grace.

We are thrilled to share exciting news with our community — Light of Hearts Villa has officially received a deficiency-free rating on our 2025 Annual State Survey conducted by the Ohio Department of Health!
