Lumen Cordium Alumnae Mass of Remembrance
Though the halls may serve a new purpose today, the spirit of Lumen Cordium continues to live on through the friendships, faith, and memories shared by generations of alumnae.
Christmas at Light of Hearts Villa is a truly special time of year, filled with cherished traditions, festive celebrations, and the warmth of being surrounded by people who care. This holiday season, we’re inviting our extended Villa family, friends, and community supporters to help us make Christmas a little brighter for the wonderful residents we serve!
Sometimes, the smallest gestures bring the biggest smiles. Whether it’s a cozy blanket to keep warm, a favorite sweet treat, or supplies for a creative afternoon, a thoughtful gift can remind a resident that they are loved, valued, and remembered.
Our Life Enrichment team has put together a list of items that will help bring comfort, creativity, and Christmas cheer to our residents throughout the holiday season and beyond!
Cozy comforts: Soft throw blankets and non-slip socks
Brain games: Large-print word searches and puzzle books
Creative fun: Adult coloring books, colored pencils, and markers
Arts and crafts: Craft supplies and seasonal activity kits
Games and prizes: Bingo prizes and small gift items
Sweet treats: Individually wrapped candies and treats
Personal care: Unscented lotions and lip balms
Gift cards: Walmart, Target, or Amazon gift cards to help purchase additional resident gifts and activity supplies
We warmly welcome donations of new, unwrapped items from individuals, families, businesses, and community groups who would like to share a little holiday magic.
Donations may be dropped off at Light of Hearts Villa, 283 Union Street, Bedford, Ohio 44146. Our team will make sure your generosity helps create special moments for the residents who call the Villa home.
Whether you choose one item from our list or organize a collection with your family, workplace, or community group, every gift makes a difference.
At Light of Hearts Villa, Christmas is about so much more than presents. It’s about kindness, connection, and making sure every resident feels the love of a caring community.
Thank you for helping us share the joy of the season and for being part of our extended Villa family.
Because hearts that give make lives shine a little brighter — especially at Christmas!

As the Sisters of Charity of St. Augustine celebrate 175 years of serving others, we’re honored to share stories from those whose lives have been touched by their mission. For Jennifer Grogan, assistant dietary director at Light of Hearts Villa, working alongside the Sisters has been a powerful reminder of what it means to lead with compassion, serve with humility, and care for others with unwavering grace.
