COMMUNITY Updates

JUNE 1, 2023

Dear Friends and Family of Light of Hearts Villa,
Happy June! We are loving mask-free life and are thrilled to enter this warm and sunny season. We are still undergoing some construction on our second floor so thank you for your patience as these improvements continue to be made throughout our building. A few housekeeping notes as we head into the summer months:
  • If your loved one is someone who enjoys soaking up the sunshine on the patio, please provide them with a bottle of sunscreen so we can make sure they’re protected.
Dining Room

We’d like to reiterate that with the last of our Covid restrictions being lifted, residents are encouraged to participate in all meals in the dining room and to limit any tray service unless they are ill. If a resident is unwell, a sick tray will be provided. Socialization is extremely important for residents and mealtime is an excellent way to begin to promote communication, connection and friendship. Prior to Covid, the expectation was that residents attend meals in the Dining Room and understandably that got shaken up a bit over the last three years. We are trying to return to normal as much as possible so please help encourage your loved one to participate in the dining experience for all three meals.

Closing Thoughts

A reminder to save the date for this year’s Light the Way Gala on Friday, September 29. The event will take place at the Historic Tanglewood Club in Chagrin Falls and you can now purchase your Tropical Resort Raffle tickets! This is a neat chance to only spend $50 and have a chance at winning a premier vacation.

Also don’t forget, our next Caregiver Support Group is on Tuesday, June 6! We invite you and anyone you know to attend this free session. These bi-monthly sessions will be a safe space for community members to come together, enjoy some snacks and learn how to cope as a caregiver.

With so much gratitude,

Breanne Cavileer, LNHA, CDP
