COMMUNITY Updates

MARCH 2, 2023

Dear Friends and Family of Light of Hearts Villa,

We are so happy to see the month of March! It’s the first sign that spring is coming and there is something refreshing about the Lenten Season. Miguel Chavez, the Sr. Vice President of Mission and Ministry with the Sisters of Charity Health System shared the following words on the first week of Lent that really resonated with me: “Lent is a beautiful time to refocus our hearts on encountering God and catching glimpses of grace that restore and renew our commitment to share love and serve those in need. It is too easy to overlook or miss moments of grace that often surround us each day. A passing smile, the kindness we witness, the simple beauty we experience, the sense of welcome and belonging we feel, these are just a few glimpses of God’s grace we might encounter. These simple and small grace moments fuel the joy that flows from faith when we recognize them.”

General Updates + Covid-19
In February we did not have any positive Covid-19 cases and are thankfully pretty status quo in that arena. We are still following the same directives regarding mask wearing and visitation policies for the time being. We will keep you updated in the months to come of any changes as we hear about them. We do have facility updates that are coming up including the addition of new pieces of art to the second floor of Lumen Lane and some second floor hallway renovations. Our technology infrastructure is also expected to be upgraded this year as well. We’ll keep you updated with more confirmed time frames once we receive them.
Closing Thoughts

Don’t forget, our next Caregiver Support Group is on Thursday, April 13! We invite you and anyone you know to attend this free session. These bi-monthly sessions will be a safe space for community members to come together, enjoy some snacks and learn how to cope as a caregiver. For more information and to register, visit our website here >

Additionally, so many of you consistently send sweet notes of thanks and encouragement and it really does mean a lot. We’d love it if you filled out our Testimonials Form and shared those thoughts here – the kind words you share will help us reach more people and recruit new residents into our family (and also make us smile).

With so much uncertainty happening in the world lately, we are praying and entering this season of Lent with our focus on God and the peace He provides. May healing, peace and safety cover us all. Thank you for continuing to be a supportive community.
With so much gratitude,

Breanne Cavileer, LNHA, CDP
Executive Director
