Senior Residential Facility in Bedford, Ohio

COMMUNITY Updates

May 6, 2025

Dear Friends and Family of Light of Hearts Villa,

As the flowers begin to bloom and the sunshine returns, we are embracing the vibrant energy of spring here at the Villa! Our residents have been loving their time on the patio—sipping coffee, enjoying conversation, and simply soaking in the beauty of nature. There’s a wonderful sense of renewal in the air, and we’re looking ahead to a meaningful season of community, connection, and purpose.

We have a few exciting opportunities coming up that we’d love for you to be part of:

Volunteer Work Day at the Vincentian Pathways Grounds
Wednesday, May 7 at 1:00 PM
Join us as we continue to revitalize this sacred space, restoring beauty and creating a welcoming environment for students, neighbors, and visitors alike. Bring gloves, gardening tools if you have them, and a love for nature!

Join Hands Day at Light of Hearts Villa
Saturday, May 17 from 9:45–11:15 AM
In partnership with FCSLA Life, volunteers will help refresh our flower beds and plant summer blooms around the Villa’s campus. It’s a joyful way to bring beauty to life for our residents. We’re also gratefully accepting flower donations—call Sister Regina for details at 440.232.1991 ext. 506.

General Updates

As we continue to grow forward, we want to reiterate an important update: we will not be holding our fundraising gala this year or next year. This thoughtful decision allows us to shift our energy toward strategic initiatives that align more closely with our mission—like deepening donor relationships, expanding outreach, and engaging more meaningfully with those who support our work.

One exciting development we’re thrilled to announce is our new partnership with FreeWill—a simple, free tool that empowers individuals to create or update a legal will. This initiative not only benefits you and your loved ones, but it also opens the door to legacy giving, which is vital to our long-term sustainability. In times of growing uncertainty around Medicaid and senior care funding, planned gifts can provide lasting stability and ensure that no resident ever has to worry about affording care. Learn more about this partnership on our website here >

We are grateful for your continued support—whether through volunteering, giving, praying, or simply spreading the word about our mission. You are a cherished part of the Light of Hearts Villa family, and we couldn’t do this without you.

Wishing you a joyful and peaceful start to the summer season!

With thanks and love,

Breanne Cavileer, LNHA, CDP
