Senior Residential Facility in Bedford, Ohio

COMMUNITY Updates

November 7, 2024

Dear Friends and Family of Light of Hearts Villa,

As November begins, we are deep in our planning season for 2025. We’re excited about our recent updates to our dietary and maintenance departments, making our services more efficient and diverse. We appreciate your encouragement and hope residents are enjoying the fresh changes to our dining program. Change can be challenging, especially for our elderly community, but we’re grateful for your support!

As the holiday season approaches, we invite you to reserve a room at Light of Hearts Villa for family gatherings. To schedule, please contact Anne Messer at anne.messer@lightofheartsvilla.org or 440.232.1991 ext. 514. Each room reservation is complimentary for up to two hours. Additionally, a gentle reminder: our staff members cannot accept personal gifts. If you’d like to show your appreciation, please consider holiday treats or contributions for the entire team (including 60 dedicated team members on any given day).

Honoring the Retirements of Karen Champa and Diann Kubinski

We recently celebrated the retirements of two beloved team members, Karen Champa, Assistant Dietary Director, and Diann Kubinski, Life Enrichment Assistant. Karen served Light of Hearts Villa for 9 years, while Diann dedicated an incredible 27 years to enriching the lives of our residents. Their last day with us was October 31, and we had a special moment at the resident Halloween party to honor their remarkable contributions. We wish them all the best in their well-deserved retirements!

WeGiveCatholic 2024

As we wrap up our 35th anniversary year, we are immensely grateful for the support that has helped us care for our residents with dignity. For 35 years, we’ve honored our founding promise to care for those who have outlived their financial resources. The Sister Helen T. Scasny, SC Benevolent Fund makes this possible, and this year, we aim to raise $35,000 to support residents in need. Thanks to a generous matching gift from Mary Ann Kaminski in memory of her husband, Deacon Robert Kaminski, each dollar raised will be doubled—bringing our goal to $70,000!

You can make your donation in these ways:

• Send a check or cash by December 3.
• Make a gift of stock or IRA distribution for tax benefits.
• Give online on December 3, at our #weGiveCatholic page: www.wegivecatholic.org/organization/lightofheartsvilla

Your gift before December 3 will double in impact, ensuring no resident is turned away due to financial need. Let’s reach our $70,000 goal together and celebrate 35 years in the most meaningful way!

With thanks and love,

Breanne Cavileer, LNHA, CDP
