Lumen Cordium Alumnae Mass of Remembrance
Though the halls may serve a new purpose today, the spirit of Lumen Cordium continues to live on through the friendships, faith, and memories shared by generations of alumnae.
As summer begins to wind down, there is so much happening at the Villa and so much to be grateful for!
First, if you haven’t had a chance to read our latest issue of Villa Voices, we hope you’ll take a few moments to catch up on all the wonderful things happening throughout our community. Our residents, families, staff, volunteers, donors and friends continue to make Light of Hearts Villa such a special place to call home. Printed copies are available near the front desk, or you can read the digital version here >
We Have BIG News: $250,000 in Matching Gifts! We are thrilled to officially announce that we have secured an unprecedented $250,000 in matching gifts for our 2026 #WeGiveCatholic campaign!
That means our fundraising has officially begun and every gift made between now and December 1 will help us work toward unlocking that incredible $250,000 match.
We are dreaming big this year, with a goal of raising $250,000 from our community to unlock the full match and reach an extraordinary $500,000 total! It is certainly an ambitious goal, but time and time again, we have seen God provide through the incredible generosity of this community.
As we begin these next few months of fundraising, we simply ask you to pray about how you might be called to support Light of Hearts Villa this year. Gifts can be made in several ways, including online or by mailing a check directly to the Villa. We’ll be sharing much more about the campaign, our matching gift families, and the impact your generosity makes in the months ahead.
For now, please know how endlessly grateful we are. Every gift at every level helps us continue our mission of providing loving, compassionate and affordable care to the seniors who call the Villa home.
National Assisted Living Week is Almost Here!
We’re also getting VERY excited for National Assisted Living Week, September 13–19! We have a full week of special activities, entertainment, treats and opportunities to celebrate and pamper our residents and staff. We can’t wait to share some of the fun with you!
And while you have your calendar out, save the date for our annual Trick-or-Treat at the Villa!
Tuesday, October 27 | 4:00–5:30 PM
This is always one of our favorite community events of the year, and we look forward to welcoming families, friends and lots of little ghosts and goblins back to the Villa!
There is so much goodness ahead this fall. Thank you for continuing to pray for us, support us, cheer us on and be part of the Light of Hearts Villa family. We could not do this work without you!!

As the Sisters of Charity of St. Augustine celebrate 175 years of serving others, we’re honored to share stories from those whose lives have been touched by their mission. For Jennifer Grogan, assistant dietary director at Light of Hearts Villa, working alongside the Sisters has been a powerful reminder of what it means to lead with compassion, serve with humility, and care for others with unwavering grace.

We are thrilled to share exciting news with our community — Light of Hearts Villa has officially received a deficiency-free rating on our 2025 Annual State Survey conducted by the Ohio Department of Health!
